Founder’s CPA is a boutique accounting firm located in Chicago that focuses on outsourced accounting services for startups and small businesses. As a valued member of our team, you will work across a variety of service areas to deliver exceptional client service. Sample responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Daily bookkeeping activities for several clients
  • Assistance in developing and executing month- end close processes
  • Processing payroll and expense reports
  • Calculating and posting adjusting journal entries
  • Assistance in budget and forecast construction and analysis
  • A/P and A/R management
  • Preparation of year end trial balances
  • New client books cleanup and analysis
  • Accounting process documentation and improvement
  • Internal controls evaluation and implementation

Technical Requirements

The ideal candidate exhibits the following skills and/or characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field required
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks Online and/or Xero
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Familiarity with Bill.com, Gusto, Receipt Bank, Intuit Tax Online, Futrli, Slack and Asana a plus
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to work autonomously

This position will start off with approximately 30-40 hours a week, paid hourly starting at $20 an hour and commensurate with experience. Opportunity for increased workload as the company and position grows. In addition, remote working could be considered after an initial month long on-boarding.
